Kulutieliekti Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Western Tianshan. The Kulutieliekti Fm was named by Wang Jingbin et al., in 1982 and was formally published in 1985. The typical section is situated in Kulutieliekti area in upper reaches of Kokirqin River southwest of Jinghe County, Xinjiang Weiwuerzhu Zizhiqu (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region). Lowermost formation (1 of 6) of Kiaketi Gr).

Lithology and Thickness
The Kulutieliekti Fm is dominated by basic volcanic rock, tuffite and tillite (diamictite). The top part is composed of gray, black gray massive unstratified tillite (diamictite), the upper part, dark gray to black amygdaloidal basalt, downward there is banded tuffite, pyroclastic rock intercalated with minor fine-clastic rock. The lowermost part is a bed of basal conglomerate with an unstable thickness. The Kulutieliekti Fm is about 115 m thick.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It rests unconformably on the underlying Songshutou Fm (uppermost Kusongmuqiek Gr) of the lower Qingbaikouan System (basal Tonian).
Upper contact
It is conformably overlain by the Tulasu Fm
Regional extent
Western Tianshan. It is limitedly exposed in north part of Kokirqin valley southwest of Jinghe County.
